This was my first ever full collection, designed and constructed when I was 16. Looking to the 1930s and '40s, I sought inspiration from the abstract use of drape and texture in the for of my garments. In doing research on the first American Couturier, Charles James, I also tried to push the length of the textiles I was using by using as little as one seam in a garment.
